Supply Chain Manager, South Yorkshire, £35,000
Due to expansion, my client is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to dramatically improve performance through the introduction of Lean and Visual management procedures.
The key accountabilities for this role include the management and optimisation of internal labour and machinery capacity to produce a valid production plan, manage key vendors and sub-contractors against raw materials and implement lean procedures to maximise availability. This role also requires an individual to control raw materials, WIP to ensure inventory accuracy.
Aside from this, the Operations Manager will be required to manage a team of 3 direct reports which includes planning plus one production area consisting of 7 staff and 2 sub contractors. The main challenges for this position will be to instigate change through gaining control of the internal process and external global supplier base. This will achieve stronger customer relations and in turn sales growth.
This role has a significant progression plan where within 6 -12 months the incumbent will develop and take responsibility for a further 3 areas including continuous improvement. This role is therefore seen as a development step to taking full ownership of Operations.
The right candidate must have a strong background in Supply Chain processes and procedures, ideally planning and scheduling within a manufacturing business along with an HND/Degree in a business, technical or manufactured related discipline.
You will have had hands on experience in Six Sigma methodology and taken a lead role in a planning and purchasing environment,
The right candidate must be a self starter with the ability to implement change and see the benefit these changes have on the business. You must have a strong conceptual awareness and be capable of leading direct reports.
