Technical Co-Ordinator

Rate: £ 18 to £ 21 K (full-time (per year)) + Excellent Benefits Package
Technical Coordinator, Confectionary firm based in South Yorkshire. Salary circa £21,000
An opportunity has arisen to join our clients successful technical operation in Barnsley.
The role is centred on supporting the Quality Management system, but is broad in content and involves office based tasks as well as work in the Laboratory and in the factory. The successful candidate will report directly to the Technical Manager and responsibilities will include:-
Document control - update the Quality manual - manage controlled documents.
Maintain the library of standard products for sales activities.
Carry out regular physical and sensory assessments on the full range of manufactured products.
Organise and prepare samples for routine microbiological and chemical analysis.
Assist in carrying out NPD and packaging trials.
Audit incoming raw materials and maintain relevant records.
Investigate and report on quality issues.
Liaise with ingredient and packaging suppliers to ensure that supplier approval and raw material specifications are kept up to date.
The role is part time, approximately 20 hours per week. There will be a degree of flexibility about which days and hours are worked. The salary is £18,000 to £21,000 pro rata depending on experience. In addition to the salary there is an excellent benefits package.
