About the Department
SMP’s London International office provides central Financial, Legal, Administrative and IT support services to SMP affiliates across the international region. The region covers territories in Continental Europe, South-East Asia, India, Australia, Middle East and Africa. Financial services are provided by the International Finance team and include Investment Appraisal, FP&A, Management Accounting and Data Management/Analytics
About the Role
You will assist the international business development team with providing informative and insightful analysis on business performance, past, present, and future to lead effective decision making. Your primary responsibility will be supporting implementation of the strategy behind international deal signings, preparing relevant analyses and valuation data for deals and communicating this to direct management.
What You’ll Do
Business Development – International
Critically evaluating signing proposals and ensuring that all information required is in place and correct. Communication with the deal owning A&R teams to ensure they are aware of associated risk levels included in deal valuations. Supporting the approval process for deal proposals whilst also monitoring deal performance to present analysis to direct management.
Business Development – Emerging Markets
Close collaboration with local offices to understand the local market and aid in deal appraisals. Reporting to management on investments made in emerging territories and assess investment risk and growth for these regions. Helping educate and advise teams on the structure and financial implications of the investments made.
Financial Planning and Analysis
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the advance spend across international territories throughout the financial year. Providing insight into intercompany revenues and understanding the variances to key financial indicators communicating to direct management.
Other Tasks
Utilize and oversee creation of bespoke research & analysis tools to help analyse, value, and support the signing of new and existing writer A&R deals.
