Events Officer\n\nDo you have the ability to manage website and social media content and to organise events?\n\nIf so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!\n\nThe Institute of Acoustics (IOA) is a professional body with members from diverse backgrounds, including engineers, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational hygienists, architects and environmental health officers\n\nYou will be responsible for the administration of conferences and one-day meetings in liaison with volunteer specialists planning the programme for the event. Working with the Marketing Manager to promote events through the website and social media. Administration of website content.\n\nYou will regularly travel within the UK to visit venues and occasional overseas visits.

Two to 3 times a year the role will involve 3-day overnight stays at events.\n\nThe Events Officer will have a significant role in supporting the Marketing Manager in using digital media to raise awareness of acoustics, the Institute and our events.\n\nWe are seeking a candidate who has the following;\n\n * Experienced with a successful track record of organising events\n\n * Proven track record of influencing, and communication skills, including working with volunteers\n\n * Tact and the ability to liaise with key stakeholders i.e. interested internal and external parties with disparate and sometimes conflicting agenda\n\n * Energy and enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude\n\n * Computer literate with good Word and Excel skills, with the ability to manage website and social media content, and a willingness to learn and use new software as AI and software develops.\n\n * Good management skills including being able to deal accurately with details.\n\n * Personal drive, determination and resilience\n\n * A proven track record of being able to create and manage event budgets\n\nIf this sounds like you, please hit apply now!\n\nOur reference: SE4185\n\nVacancy: Events Officer\n\nLocation: Milton Keynes - There is some flexibility in working hours and home working but this has to be balanced with the manning of the office with a small administrative team\n\nHours: Full time, 9-5 Monday to Friday\n\nSalary: £32,000 -£35,000 per year depending on experience\n\nBenefits: Leave 20 days /year plus public holidays\n\nPension Scheme (with AEGON) where the Institute pays 6%\n\nSmart Hire are advertising on behalf of The Institute of Acoustics.\n\nINDSH
