Health & Safety Manager\n\nColchester\n\n£400/day\n\nAn established social housing contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health and safety compliance and performance across planned maintenance and void property programmes in the Colchester area.\n\nThis position will play a key role in supporting operational delivery, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures, and promoting a positive health & safety culture across multiple workstreams within a live social housing environment.\n\nThe Role:\n\nLead and manage health & safety across planned maintenance and void programmes within social housing properties\nConduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure full compliance with current H&S legislation and company procedures\nProvide expert advice and guidance to operational teams, subcontractors, and management on safe systems of work, RAMS, and best practice\nInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and implementing corrective actions where required\nWork closely with clients and internal stakeholders to maintain high standards of health & safety performance across all sites\nSupport the delivery of toolbox talks, training sessions, and behavioural safety initiatives\nMonitor trends, identify areas for improvement, and help drive a positive safety culture throughout the businessExperience Required:\n\nProven experience in a Health & Safety role within social housing, planned maintenance, repairs, or void works\nNEBOSH Construction or General Certificate essential (Diploma desirable)\nStrong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and their practical application\nExperience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels\nAble to work independently while supporting multiple operational teams across live environments\nFull UK driving licence requiredThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work and a genuine commitment to health & safety improvement.
